# Why You Should Consider Custom Plastic Totes

Aug 20, 2021 | [Returnable Packaging](https://blog.newtechpackaging.com/tag/returnable-packaging)

![Why You Should Consider Custom Plastic Totes](https://blog.newtechpackaging.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/plastic-totes-1.jpg)

If storing essential documents and valuables is important to you, why would you risk critical information by keeping them in an average cardboard box that deteriorates over time? A **[custom plastic tote](https://www.newtechpackaging.com/custom-packaging/returnable-packaging/)** can protect your valuables in a safe and long-lasting custom plastic packaging that can fit any size item.

Plastic storage bins can help practically any home and business storage needs, including:

- eCommerce fulfillment
- Consumer goods packaging
- Food and beverage
- Warehousing/distribution
- Healthcare
- Medical devices
- Automotive
- Avionics
- Electronics

Plastic has a bad reputation for being more harmful to the environment. Switching to plastic containers helps reduce waste as plastic will not deteriorate over time as cardboard does. As climate change continues to shape our future, plastic is a better product for long-term storage as it reduces the strain on our environment.

## **Custom Plastic Totes Can Help You Save Money**

To help save your company money, using custom plastic totes and bins for your storage needs is a wise investment. Custom plastic bins may cost more initially, but they will not deteriorate over time like cardboard boxes.

You don’t have to keep moving your items to a new box when the old one deteriorates, and you do not have to spend more money on climate-controlled storage.  Your return on investment will increase over time as you do not have to keep replacing cardboard boxes.

For consumers, you can store your seasonal decorations, essential documents, and priceless valuables in safe and sturdy plastic bins. And you can keep them in an outdoor storage unit without worrying about the heat or cold. You can rest easy knowing that your items will be safe wherever you store them.

## **Benefits of Custom Plastic Totes**

There are many benefits to using custom plastic storage bins. Unlike standard plastic and cardboard boxes, custom plastic bins can fit whatever you need to protect, from odd shapes to multi-compartment sections for delicate items. When you are not using them, your custom plastic storage bins are easy to disassemble for storage without taking up too much room.

Plastic totes can come in various colors, sizes, and configurations, including the thickness of the walls when extra protection is needed. Whatever item you need to store securely, a custom plastic bin is your best bet.

Other benefits of using custom plastic totes over cardboard include:

- Cost-effectiveness
- Lightweight
- Water/Chemical proof
- Eco-friendly
- Durable
- Reduces product damage

One of the best uses for custom plastic totes is returnable packaging. If you frequently ship items to and from another department or company, using plastic totes can reduce waste by replacing disposable packaging and is better at protecting your items from inclement weather or the occasional bumpy deliveries.

NewTECH Packaging can help you create any size plastic tote for your storage needs. They use only the best materials and constantly improve their designs to offer more storage solutions for your home or business. When you are ready to talk about custom plastic totes, call (901) 466-8770 to discuss how we can help keep your valuables safe.
