From higher fuel prices and freight rates to increasing costs for corrugated boxes, foam packaging, and shipping supplies, businesses across the country are being forced to spend more just to keep operations moving. For manufacturers, distributors, 3PLs, and e-commerce companies, these cost increases can quickly impact profitability. The good news? There are ways to reduce the impact — especially when you have the right packaging partner to help you navigate it. ## Why Packaging and Freight Costs Keep Increasing The reality is that packaging and freight pricing has become much more unpredictable than it used to be. Several factors continue to drive costs upward, including: - Rising fuel and transportation costs - Increased freight carrier demand - Corrugated and raw material price increases - Supply chain disruptions - Labor shortages These are not short-term issues anymore. They are ongoing market changes that businesses have to plan around strategically. That means companies can no longer afford to treat packaging as just another commodity purchase. ## How Smart Companies Are Responding The businesses managing these challenges best are taking a proactive approach instead of simply reacting every time costs rise. That may include: - Reducing packaging waste - Improving packaging design - Consolidating SKUs - Adjusting order quantities - Automating packaging processes - Finding alternative materials - Improving freight efficiency Small packaging improvements can create major savings over time — especially for high-volume operations. ## How New-Tech Packaging Helps Reduce Packaging Costs At New-Tech Packaging, we work with companies throughout Memphis and the surrounding region to help reduce packaging and freight-related expenses through smarter packaging strategies. We are more than a packaging supplier. We work as a strategic packaging partner. Our team helps businesses: - Evaluate packaging inefficiencies - Identify cost-saving opportunities - Improve packaging performance - Reduce freight impact - Streamline packaging operations - Source packaging materials more effectively Whether it is corrugated boxes, protective foam packaging, packaging automation, industrial supplies, or contract packaging services, our goal is to help customers make informed decisions that support both operations and profitability. ## Communication Matters During Cost Increases One of the biggest frustrations companies face during price increases is lack of communication. At New-Tech, we believe transparency matters. When market conditions change, we work closely with customers to explain what is happening, what is driving the increase, and what options may exist to offset those costs elsewhere in the packaging process. That is what a true packaging partnership should look like. ## Build a Smarter Packaging Strategy Rising packaging and freight costs are not going away anytime soon. But with the right strategy, they can become far more manageable. If your business is looking for ways to reduce packaging costs, improve operational efficiency, or strengthen your supply chain strategy, the team at New-Tech Packaging is here to help. - *Contact us today to start building a smarter packaging strategy for your business.*   ### Get The Packaging Pulse An enewsletter of all things packaging.
